In the 1950’s
In the 1950s, HAYMAN’S JEWELRY CO. carried Famous Name Brand Appliances like Sunbeam, Hotpoint, GE, Dormeyer…
“It’s Wise and Thrifty to Buy the Appliances You Need Now” advises Hayman’s Jewelry from a two page spread in the TAMPA SUNDAY TRIBUNE of Sunday, August 4, 1950.
Solomon Hayman believed that jewelry and appliances were a natural mix. “Young men bought gold compacts for girlfriends, returned for engagement rings and came back with new wives for washing machines,” he would say.
In 1950, Hayman Jewelry Co. was located on the Corner of Franklin and Cass Street, and those new Tampa wives were coming to the Appliance Department to get their washing machines and toasters and irons repaired.
We are on a different corner in 2016, but trust is still the reason Tampa comes to Hayman’s Jewelry.
